Sofas

Shop from a wide assortment of sofas at Slumberland Furniture, ranging in material from fabric, leather, faux leather, microfiber, and vinyl. Each of these materials has its own advantages and disadvantages, so we’re going to go over some of them to help you choose. Fabric sofas have the supreme benefit of being inexpensive and very easy to clean. You can use any household cleaner you ordinarily use on fabric on a fabric sofa. Although it is a great material, a disadvantage of fabric is that it stains a bit more easily and is a bit less durable than, say, leather. Leather itself has the advantage of looking fantastic. A leather sofa is a classic look, after all. It also has the perk of being highly durable and hard to stain. Unfortunately, however, if leather does stain, it requires specialized cleaners to remove the stain, and it is expensive as a material. Faux leather has the benefit of looking a lot like leather while being cruelty-free. It is also very durable. However, it too requires specialized cleaners to maintain when stained.

Microfiber has the perk of being incredibly soft, and it is perfect for someone looking for comfort above all else in a sofa. It is reasonably durable, and it is easy to clean with simple household cleaners, much like fabric. However, microfiber is extremely absorbent, so it stains easily. Finally, vinyl has the advantage of being more durable than fabric and reasonably hard to stain. It, too, can be cleaned with household cleaners, and it is a very middle-of-the-road choice for sofa construction. It is also relatively cheap.

Accent Chairs

You might be asking yourself, what is an accent chair? An accent chair is a piece of furniture placed in a room to serve as a visual focal point. It is a chair that is meant to draw eyes to it as a point of contrast within the room. An accent chair can be used in a variety of ways. For example, a red or other primary color accent chair can highlight an otherwise neutral-colored room and add a pop of color that draws the eyes.

Mattress FAQs

Here we’re going to cover some of the commonly asked questions about Slumberland Furniture to help guide you to your best night's sleep.

What Type of Mattresses Do You Offer?

At Slumberland Furniture, we have three types of mattresses: innerspring, memory foam, and hybrid. We offer these types of mattresses from the top mattress brands in the industry, including Stearns and Foster and Tempur-Pedic. The differences between these types of mattresses are as follows. Innerspring mattresses are composed of a layer of spring coils that offer most of the support to the mattress, among several other layers. This type of mattress has the most bounce to it, so if that is what you want, look no further. A memory foam-type mattress is composed primarily of body-conforming foam. People generally “sink” into these types of mattresses, and these types of mattresses offer excellent heat retention compared to other types. If you want a mattress that will hug your body tightly as you sleep on it, then this is the mattress type for you. Finally, hybrid-type mattresses have a layer of innerspring coils as well as several layers of foam. This variety of mattresses offers low heat retention, which is perfect if you sleep hot. It also has a wonderful mix of bounciness and body conformity for those people who are seeking a little of both.

How Soft Are Your Mattresses?

Slumberland mattresses are ranked on a scale of one to five in terms of firmness to softness, with five being the softest and one the firmest. We generally recommend firm mattresses to heavier sleepers who tend to sink into the mattress further and softer mattresses to lighter sleepers who will not sink in as much. We also offer a similar scale for back support, with one being the least back support and five being the most back support. We generally recommend that customers consider a combination of these two factors when purchasing a mattress to ensure that it is optimally suited to you and your body type.
